The much-anticipated feature, which has been become the standard in almost every primary app ‘the dark mode’ is finally coming to WhatsApp. The Facebook-owned messaging platform has been spotted running in the dark mode on its latest beta version 2.19.82. While Facebook has recently introduced dark mode for its Messenger application, it appears the company is working on to bring the new feature to its most popular messaging platform WhatsApp as well.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has recently submitted its new update featuring dark mode through its Google Play Beta Program. The report showcases the latest screenshots of the WhatsApp beta app bearing 2.19.82 version number. The images showcased reveal the new dark mode spread across all the primary settings panel of messaging app; however, the dark mode across the chats UI hasn’t been revealed yet – at least for now.

For those who are unaware, the dark mode feature on any app reduces the full display pixel utilization, especially for AMOLED and OLED smartphones and henceforth helps in lower consumption of battery on all the latest OLED and AMOLED displays phones. As we can see many of the Google apps alongside Twitter and Reddit and also WhatsApp rivals like Telegram and Facebook’s own Messenger app, have already included the dark mode feature with their latest updates. The report also suggests the new dark mode feature on WhatsApp is still under development and is certainly not available yet. The official rollout is yet to be known.

Apart from the dark mode, the latest beta builds of the WhatsApp messaging platform also include showcasing audio file names that are being shared or forwarded within the conversations. Further, the fingerprint authentication can also be seen in the latest beta version of the WhatsApp application and not long ago WhatsApp has been working on showcasing the number of times an individual message has been forwarded, which is expected to be useful in tackling or spreading fake news across the WhatsApp users globally and in India as well. So, what do you think of these new upcoming features of your beloved WhatsApp messaging platform? Do let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
