Vivo’s upcoming Smartphone could have a Fingerprint scanner embedded in the Display

by Karthik Iyer 2

Over the past couple of months, we have been hearing a lot of smartphones coming with the fingerprint scanner embedded in the display. It was expected that Samsung could bring it with the Galaxy S8 which didn’t happen. Now it is expected that the Galaxy Note 8 and the Apple iPhone 8 will have it. However, according to the new reports which we have, it looks like Vivo is going to be the first manufacturer to launch a smartphone with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display.

Apparently, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has a working prototype of this technology. The same has been confirmed by a leaked video which shows the same. The screenshot which you see above shows off the same as well. We are not sure how good the technology is and how accurate it is. But it certainly looks like Vivo has nailed it out of the park leaving Apple, Samsung, etc. behind.

According to the reports, it looks like Vivo is going to launch a new smartphone this month i.e June 28th to be precise. It is expected that the company will be launching a smartphone which will use this technology. Well, if this is true, then we are surely in for a treat. As mentioned earlier, we don’t know if this will work perfectly. It might not be as accurate as the conventional method, but it will surely get better with time.

We also hope more and more manufacturer will get onboard and bring this technology. As of now, Samsung’s Iris scanner is the new gig and everyone seems to have been enjoying it so far. If this new technology debuts this month, then it will definitely change the way we unlock our devices. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this.
