Update — Just yesterday, Vivo has officially confirmed to launch the Vivo iQOO Neo as an affordable variant to the flagship Vivo iQOO. While the company revealed the first look of the device, there are no specifications revealed. Now, the Vivo iQOO Neo with the model number V1914A is spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench. As per the listing, the iQOO Neo will come powered by the last-gen 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform.
It also packs 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. The device has scored 2321 on single-core and 8041 on multi-core tests. The base variant of the Snapdragon 855-powered Vivo iQOO with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is currently retailing for CNY 2798 (approx USD 405 / INR 28,350). Now, the upcoming iQOO Neo is rumored to priced between CNY 1500 and CNY 2000. We need to wait for the launch day to get the confirmation over the pricing of the device.
Earlier (June 19th, 2019) — A few months back, Vivo introduced the new sub-brand called iQOO to launch affordable flagship smartphones for smartphone gamers. The first phone is called as Vivo iQOO and is one of the most affordable Snapdragon 855-powered smartphones. While there are no fancy RGB lights or gamer aesthetics, the Vivo iQOO came with the virtual trigger on the side edge, an enhanced game mode for boosted performance, and liquid cooling technology to avoid thermal throttling.
From the last few weeks, we have been seeing leaks about the launch of Vivo iQOO Lite. Today, the company posted a teaser image confirming the name of its cheaper iQOO smartphone as Vivo iQOO Neo. It also revealed the complete first look of the device. The design of the iQOO Neo looks very much the same as iQOO. However, there are virtual trigger buttons on the side edge on the iQOO Neo. The LED flash is moved into the triple camera module on top left corner on the rear.
While the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge, the AI button in orange accent can be spotted on the left edge. Just like the iQOO, the iQOO Neo also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack. It is placed on the bottom edge along with the USB Type-C port. On the front, the device sports waterdrop notch display. The iQOO Neo comes in Carbon Black and Gradient Purple color options. As of now, there is no information about the specifications of the smartphone.
While the iQOO came powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, the iQOO Neo might use the last-gen 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. The Snapdragon 845 is still one of the most powerful smartphone processors. It is rumored to be priced under CNY 2000 and will be officially unveiled later this month.
