The MWC Shanghai event is scheduled to be held from June 26th to June 29th. Unlike the MWC Barcelona where we get to see the products from the global brands, the MWC Shanghai will be mainly focused around the Chinese tech sector. OPPO already confirmed to showcase the world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera at MWC Shanghai. On the other hand, Vivo will be unveiling its first ever commercial 5G smartphone.

The Vivo APEX 2019 unveiled earlier this year came with 5G support but it is just a concept device. Today, the company also posted a new image on Weibo teasing the launch of its first ever AR Glasses. The Vivo AR Glasses will offer 110-inch viewing experience in 3D from a certain distance. As of now, there is not much information about these AR Glasses.

The other major smartphones like Apple and Huawei are also rumored to be working on AR Glasses, but there is no official confirmation from any of these brands. At the MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Vivo showcased the APEX concept smartphone featuring a full-screen display with no notch or bezels and a pop-up selfie camera. Now, the pop-up selfie camera became the ideal solution to offer full-screen experience.

Vivo is also the first smartphone brand to offer under-display fingerprint scanning solution. With the upcoming Vivo AR Glasses, we hope the company brings in new innovative features. We need to wait for few more days to get know more details about the company’s first step in the AR hardware segment. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
