Last month, the Nokia 2 global launch event was held in New Delhi, India and the company is yet to announce the Indian pricing of the device. It is priced at EUR 99 and comes with a decent build quality. However, the device lacks the specifications to compete with the other smartphones at this price range. Based on the rumors, the Nokia 2 is said to be priced at Rs. 6,999 or Rs. 7,999 and will be sold via offline retail stores. It comes with just 1GB of RAM & 8GB of internal storage.
However, the new leak suggests HMD Global might bring a new variant of the Nokia 2 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It is said to be priced at Rs. 7,999 and will be sold via Flipkart. It shares the same specifications as the 1GB RAM variant of the Nokia 2. Under the hood, the device will be still powered by Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 304 GPU. With the IP52 rating, the Nokia 2 is also splash proof.
Recently, the company also launched the Nokia 5 with 3GB of RAM exclusively on Flipkart. Talking about the Nokia 2, the device comes with a 6000-series Aluminium frame but features a plastic body. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) LTPS display and comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 128GB. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and is guaranteed to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update.
In the camera department, the Nokia 2 features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The USP of the device is the massive 4,100mAh battery that is rated to give two days of battery life. On the connectivity front, the Nokia 2 supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. Since the information comes from an unverified source, take these details with a pinch of salt.
