Upcoming HTC Bolt Smartphone certified by FCC in the U.S

One smartphone which we have been covering for a while now is none other than the HTC Bolt. This is the company’s upcoming smartphone and is expected to be that flagship device which will turn tables around for the company. Well, past couple of years have not been the best for the company in terms of sales. Things particularly went down after the launch of the HTC One M9 smartphone. The HTC 10 which followed soon after also didn’t do much wonders for them.
And now after all this time, we might be looking at the company’s best effort yet. Also, this alleged new smartphone from the company is also expected to launch quite. The device has now been certified by the FCC in the U.S. Do make a note that it is with a model number 2PYB200. Looking at the certification, it can be confirmed that it is indeed the HTC Bolt smartphone since we don’t have any other rumours about an HTC smartphone. Well, the fact that it is now been certified by the FCC, pretty much confirms that it might launch quite sooner than we expected it to.
Now when you talk about the smartphone itself, we are looking at a 5.5-inch display on the front, which is a 1080p panel with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. Under the hood will be a Snapdragon 810 processor powering the smartphone, which is an octa-core CPU. It is also coupled with an Adreno 430 GPU. The smartphone will also pack 3GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage onboard. We not sure if this will be expandable via a microSD card. The FCC also confirms that the Bolt has 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac
In terms of the camera, we are looking at an 18-megapixel rear facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel front facing shooter as well. But one important thing to note here is the fact that this might be the first smartphone from HTC which will be skipping the 3.5mm headphone jack. Yes, we have seen it before and as expected this is certainly not going to be the last time. But as of now it looks like HTC will be joining others in this race.
It is said that this new HTC Bolt is basically the successor to the previously launched HTC Thunderbolt. The HTC Thunderbolt which was launched back in 2011 was a Verizon-exclusive smartphone and was the first to take advantage of 4G LTE in the U.S. Well, it was not the best smartphone out there at that time due to all the glitches and what not. But we at least expect the upcoming Thunderbolt to be good. Rumour has it that the HTC Bolt will be offered by Sprint in the U.S. But if you are waiting for the global launch of the device then that will also follow soon, so stay tuned for more info on this.
