TCL Launches TCL 560 Smartphone in India with Iris Scanner at Rs 7999

In an attempt to expand globally, the Chinese electronic manufacturer TCL officially launched the new TCL 560 smartphone at an event today, which was held in in New Delhi. The TCL 560 draws some attention as it comes with an IRIS scanner on the front for unlocking the device. TCL has been making smartphones under the Alcatel brand name, which has managed to get good traction in few markets. The TCL 560 features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and comes with a pixel density of 320PPI. The smartphone is powered by a 32-bit 1.1 GHz Quad-core snapdragon 210 Chipset coupled with a 2GB of RAM. The device will be running the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. On the camera side, we have an 8–megapixel rear facing camera and a 5–megapixel front-facing selfie shooter. The speaker is located at the back of the device. As mentioned, it comes with an Iris Scanner, which the company calls it EyeVerify. It unlocks the phone by scanning your eyes and works well in well-lit conditions. The device is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery.

Talking about the IRIS scanner, this is not the first smartphone to come equipped with it. LYF recently announced Earth 2(rebranded Blade S7), which also comes with an IRIS scanner. The new TCL 560 will be available to purchase exclusively from Amazon India in Dark Grey and Metallic Gold color variants. TCL smartphones are already available in Indian market. One such offering from the company is the TCL Fit which is priced at 8,000 INR. The device is a mid-range smartphone with a 1-GHz processor and is equipped with 2GB of RAM. It also sports a 5.5-inch IPS display and has a 5-megapixel and an 8-megapixel front and rear camera respectively. You can also check out the TCL Pride T500L which is priced at 10,500 INR and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC.
