STK Smartphones to Enter Indian Mobiles Market with HERO X at Rs 9,999

STK, the London based smartphone brand now announces its plans to enter the second largest smartphone market, India. As of now, the company is selling its devices in UK, Latin America, Middle East, and selected African markets. The smartphones from STK ranges from 3.5 to 6.0 inches which are said to occupy 80% of the total smartphone market. All the smartphones are designed in London and by the end of 2016, the company expects to launch around ten smartphones in the Indian market.

The flagship STK Hero X will be one of the smartphones that will be made available in India. It will be priced at Rs. 9,999 and comes with premium build quality and decent specifications. The device sports unibody design built out of metal and a 2.5D glass is laid on top. It comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with almost stock UI and includes ‘STK Care’ app for controlling the background app usage and controlling app permissions.
It includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable upto 32GB. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash; and an 8MP fixed focus camera on the front. It comes with a hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for a MicroSD card instead of second SIM. The non-removable 2050mAh battery on the Hero X is said to give 4 hours of talk time and lasts upto 200 hours on standby. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS & MicroUSB 2.0 port.
Unlike most of the smartphones, the power button and volume rocker are placed on the left edge of the Hero X. The speaker can be found on the bottom edge. While the Hero X sports a price tag of Rs. 9,999 and the company will be selling the Android-powered smartphones starting from as low as Rs. 2,999. STK also aims to be in the second or third spot in India’s online selling smartphone brands list. Apart from smartphones, we can also expect some smartphone related accessories to be launched in India.
