The Sony Xperia E4 was already out there, but Sony has now announced the 4G LTE enabled Xperia E4g, which is going to be available in both, single and Dual SIM options. This will be one of those devices from Sony, having a little shift in design, as Sony has been using the OmniBalance design philosophy for almost all its smartphones in the recent past.
The Xperia E4g has a curved back panel, textured edges and the design change moves to a state where we see a diamond-cut aluminum power button and a stainless steel ring around the camera lens on the back. The Xperia E4g has a scratch-resistant display as well.
Unlike the E4 3G variant which has a 5-inch display, the Xperia E4g has a 4.7-inch display with the same qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels). Even the processor is changed, probably for the connectivity, and it is now the Mediatek MT6732 quad-core processor clocking at 1.5 GHz, and that is coupled with 1GB RAM. A MicroSD card slot is provided along with 8GB internal storage.
There is a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and on the front, Sony has given a 2-megapixel front camera. The device has a 2300 mAh battery, which is said to give about 2 days of usage as claimed by the company. Sony’s Stamina and Ultra Stamina modes are also included in the interface, which is Sony’s custom one layered over Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
“Xperia E4 set out to bring many of the premium features people expect of Sony to lower-tier devices; Xperia E4g brings that same quality and ease of use – but with super-fast 4G LTE connectivity” stated Tony McNulty, Vice President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications.
The smartphone is said to be hitting the markets from April 2015, and the price set is 129 Euros, which is about Rs. 9000.
