Sony starts rolling Android 9.0 update to its Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact

Recently we have seen Sony officially confirming the list of smartphones to get the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system in the month of August and later it was said that the flagship devices will be updated in November. Now to everyone surprise, the company has already started rolling out the update for its Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones. The update to this phones are received via OTA update and it also includes the security patch for the month of October.

The size of the OTP received is 1.05GB in size and comes with the version number 52.0.A.3.27. It is also expected that the Xperia XZ1 and XZ will also be getting this update very soon. Moreover, Sony has said that the XA2 series will be getting the update in the first quarter of 2019. The latest update comes with many new features and improvements that include navigation gestures, Adaptive Battery which uses machine learning to prioritize system resources for the applications, App actions and much more.

The latest update also comes with a new camera app but does not include portrait selfie mode. If you have not received the update yet, you can go to the system updates from the settings of the phone. If the update is available you need to download it before installing it. Make sure that the battery on the device is more than 60 percent before installing the update. You should also back up your data before the update starts.
