Smartron, a Hyderabad-based smart devices manufacturer, has announced their first smartphone called tphone. It is powered by the tron ecosystem, which was unveiled last month at New Delhi announcement event, where Sachin Tendulkar also launched the company’s first hybrid tablet named tbook. While the hybrid tablet would be competing with the likes of premium devices such as Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple iPad Pro, the company’s first smartphone is all set to go on a fight with smartphones in the country.

Sachin Tendulkar was present at the launch event hosted in Hyderabad. The iconic cricketing personality is himself an investor in the company and counts this as its second journey after cricket, as he is invested to see India grow in terms of technological advancement. Smartron, will not only be releasing the smartphones and tablets, but would be going beyond that to pursue IOT (Internet of Things) goals in the coming months. The brand has also showcased its interests in setting up manufacturing units in the country under “Make in India” initiative.
