Samsung has recently launched Galaxy Note 5, it comes powered by a Exynos 7420 processor, clocking at 2.3GHz. Overall the specs of the device are pretty great, moreover it comes with Fingerprint option. This option helps you in securing your device with your fingerprint scans. You can add up to four fingerprints on this device that will be protected by an additional password. This password can be used if the fingerprint scanner stops working. Here are the following steps to setting up the service on your Galaxy Note 5.
Step 1: Launch the Settings App.
Step 2: Scroll Down to personal section and Tap on Lock screen and security.
Step 3: Now in the security list, click on the Fingerprints option.
Step 4: In the new list opened, you have to tap on Add Fingerprint.
Step 5: Now follow the on screen instructions i.e. place finger on Home key, Lift it off, and then repeat. Move finger upward/downward slightly between attempts.
Step 6: Place your finger on the home key, the fingerprint sensor would scan them, and then phone will vibrate in intervals as it stores the fingerprint. To make this procedure complete quickly you have to lift the finger off and place it back again.
Step 7: Repeat the process until your fingerprint is scanned completely. Once the scanning is done, Success message is displayed on the screen.
Step 8: After scanning the finger, you will be asked to create a backup password. The password must contain at least six characters, including at least one letter and one number.
Step 9: Enter the password and click on continue.
Step 10: The device will ask for the confirmation of the password. So, rewrite the password and click on OK button.
Step 11: Once you set the password a pop-up stating ‘Set screen lock type’ appears on the screen. Click on the SET button to set fingerprint as the screen lock type or else do it later and skip it.
Step 12: When you click on the SET button, Fingerprint Lock enabled on the screen is displayed.

Note:
If you don’t place the Finger at the right position, then a message stating ‘Make sure that your finger covers the entire Home Key’ is displayed on the screen.
If the Fingerprint scanner is unable to scan your finger then a message stating ‘Wipe Home Key and try again’ is displayed on the screen.
This is the general procedure using which you can set up the fingerprint scanner on your device. If you still have any queries regarding this, you can pass them in the comment box and we will get back to you. We have also covered a few other useful Tips & Tricks of Note 5 mentioned below.
