Samsung is taking the Wearable and smartwatch category seriously, and it already is having the most number of smartwatches to choose from. Samsung is now eyeing the strategy that is used in Smartphones by releasing the most number of devices in all price ranges keeping hopes that any one of the devices will be a hit.
Samsung has now registered patent designs for three new smartwatches according to MobileGeeks, which are pretty interesting in design perspective as well. The patents that were disclosed have a huge overhaul on the design aspect with a rounded display for the watch. The charging port of the smartwatch is also now placed near the bracelet closure.
The devices will be having camera mounted on the strap similar to Galaxy Gear smartwatch. There is going to be Gesture detection and also Fingertips detector that is most probably going to be used for controlling Smart TV using your Smartwatch with the help of gestures.
There are two types of designs displayed in the patents one being the circular one and the other being a square one with rounded borders that are new from Samsung from its regular rectangular design.
There is no news on what OS these smartwatches will be running on whether they will support Android Wear or Tizen. Android Wear is the more likely contender because of the Android Support and also the Camera on the device.
The patent was issued on July 29th which was applied on March, 15th 2013, having a patent number of US D709, 873 S; that was allotted for a term of 14 years. So now that the patents have been accepted let’s see when Samsung will be releasing these smart watches as the competition is getting very hard with many big companies also releasing many smartwatches in the near future.
