Samsung is said to be working on a new flip phone for the market. This new phone goes by the model number SM-W2018 and we have some new reports which claim that this particular phone will come with a few interesting set of specs for the masses. Yes, a Twitter tipster has revealed that this upcoming SM-W2018 clamshell smartphone will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM.

Well, Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM does sound like a powerful combo and in fact, a few other flagships are offering the same set of specs. Hence, if you were thinking that these phones are not going to be powerful, then you are wrong. However, it has also been reported that this phone could ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software, which is not particularly new. Also, the other set of specs apart from the SoC and RAM is also not quite impressive.

Talking about the other specs, this flip phone is said to sport 4.2-inch Full HD displays. In terms of the camera, we are looking at 12-megapixel rear-facing shooter with optical image stabilization. On the front for the selfies, it looks like there is a 5-megapixel shooter. The rumors also say that it will have 64GB of internal storage and a 2,300 mAh battery internally. Now the battery again could be an issue, since we are talking about two displays and a Snapdragon 835 SoC.

And considering the rumors that this phone might cost some big bucks like $2,000, the specs don’t seem to justify the price here. So unless Samsung manages to bring a unique USP for this, it looks like they are going to have a hard time selling these. And talking about the availability of this phone, it is known fact that Samsung tends to reserve the clamshell devices for the Chinese market only. Hence, if you are planning on buying one, then you get ready to pay import duties over what appears to be an already expensive price tag. Having said, let us know your thoughts on this phone by leaving a comment down below.
