The South Korean smartphone brand, Samsung had earlier launched the 7-inch Galaxy J Max along with the Galaxy J2 2016 in India. Today, the company had relaunched the same tablet as Galaxy Tab J in Taiwan. The Galaxy J Max offers Dual-SIM capabilities with 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE support. It is priced at NT$ 5,990 (approx Rs. 12,500) in Taiwan and in India, it came with a price tag of Rs. 13,400.
Earlier – The Galaxy J Max features a 7-inch WXGA TFT LCD Screen with a resolution of 1280 X 800. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and an expandable storage upto 200GB. It comes with a 4,000 mAh battery. On the camera side, we have an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. The Galaxy J Max will be powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The device is 8.7 mm in thickness and has a light-weight modern design, and it will be available in black and gold color options.
The Galaxy J Max comes loaded with ‘Make for India’ innovations such as S bike mode and Ultra Data Saving mode. S bike mode is essentially a mode which puts the smartphone in a state where only important calls are passed through for safe riding. The ‘Ultra Data Saving’ (UDS) mode provides up to 50% mobile data savings by blocking unnecessary background applications from consuming data. It also has a proprietary data compression technology, which ensures the most cost-efficient 4G experience. This device will directly compete with the recently launched Xiaomi Mi Max phablet by the company.
The Xiaomi Mi Max also featured a huge 6.44″ display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and is available in variants with different processor options. It comes with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage options which are expandable via a microSD up to a 128GB. It packs a 4,850 mAh battery and comes with the latest and greatest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. With that being said, the Galaxy J Max will be available to purchase by the end of July, and as mentioned before, it will be priced at Rs. 13,400.
