Samsung to launch Upgraded Galaxy J5 Prime Smartphone at Rs. 14,900 in India

The South Korean smartphone manufacturing company Samsung had earlier launched the J5 Prime smartphone along with the J7 Prime back in September last year. The smartphone was later launched in Australia as well. Now the company will is planning to launch a 32GB storage variant of the smartphone here in India. Talking about the specs of the smartphone, we don’t have anything new here since we are looking at exactly the same device. Only the RAM and the internal storage is getting a bump from 2GB to 3GB and 16GB to 32GB respectively.

In terms of the pricing, the Galaxy S5 Prime with 32GB of internal storage will cost you Rs. 14,900, which is exactly the same price at which initially the 16GB variant was launched. Now the 16GB variant is retailing for about Rs. 13,790. Do make a note that both the variants do come with support for expanding the memory with the microSD card upto 256GB. Earlier: Back in the month of September, Samsung launched the Galaxy J5 smartphone in India along with the Galaxy J7 smartphone as well. Both the smartphones were readily available to purchase in the country. And now after two months, Samsung has made the Galaxy J5 smartphone available in Australia. Do make a note that the Galaxy J5 smartphone was available to purchase only in India so far and now you can also get them in Australia.

All the specs and features of the smartphones remain the same and hence you should not be expecting anything new here from the company. Talking about the pricing and availability of the smartphones, it will be available in from JB Hi-Fi retailer in gold and black color variants and the same have been listed on their website for about AUD 399 which roughly translates to about 20,000 INR. Earlier- Samsung launched the new Galaxy J5 Prime and the J7 Prime smartphones in India. These are the two new addition to the company’s existing J-series smartphones. These are the mid-ranged offerings from the company, and like all the other smartphones in this series, these two are also priced quite aggressively to compete in the market with other manufacturers.

These two new devices do have a couple of new interesting features up it sleeves. But talking about the specs of these two devices, they do offer some interesting hardware for the price. The J7 Prime comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display on the front with a 2.5D glass. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor along with 3GB of RAM. It also has 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB.

In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 13-megapixel rear facing shooter with a f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, we have an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The device is kept powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. And now talking about the specs of the J5 Prime, it comes with a 5-inch display and is powered by a quad-core Exynos CPU which is coupled with a 2GB of RAM. On the camera side, we are looking at a 5-megapixel front facing camera and it is kept powered by a 2,400 mAh battery. All the other specs are same as that of the J7 Prime.

These devices have some new features like S power planning and S secure, which are essentially a battery saving feature and lock feature. Both the devices will be available in gold and Black color options. And as far as availability goes, both the devices will be available starting September End. The Galaxy J5 Prime is priced at 14,790 INR and the J7 Prime is priced at 18,790 INR.
