Samsung Galaxy J1

Samsung is riding high on its success of latest S6/S6 Edge handset and the looks-like company now wants to focus on its other ranges. Recently, we covered a report where it was confirmed that a new Tizen phone is coming soon, and it would be named Z3. Now there’s more news coming about South Korean Giant’s would be announcing a budget friendly device named J2.

In various reports in the last weeks, there have been reports that Galaxy J2 is in the works. But now it looks like company is in the final stage to announce the launch of the device. Couple of days ago we learnt that few units of J2 has arrived in India for the testing purposes. The device was sporting a model number SM-J200F, which clearly meant that it is Samsung Galaxy J2.

But now more reports have leaked about the device, this time via Geekbench, as well as now we know what all specs it would come with. Well for starters, the rumored device is set to come with Android Lollipop 5.1.1, which is the latest version the Google’s operating system. This is unheard of, as Samsung has never offered the latest OS on their budget friendly device. But it looks like this time there would be an exception.

Though, it’s highly likely that we would see a ne TouchWiz UI from Galaxy S6 on the new J-series handset. The J2 is all set to feature 4.7-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

Now it would be interesting to see, when company announce this smartphone, as many other big brands already have forayed into budget friendly smartphone with quite the investments.
