Samsung Galaxy View 2 Tablet Leaked with 17.5″ Display & Hinged Kickstand Design

Back in 2015, Samsung launched the Galaxy View Tablet with a large 18.4-inch display. The company introduced it when there are no smart displays like Google Home Hub and Amazon Echo Show. Now, the latest reports suggest Samsung is already working the Galaxy View’s successor called Galaxy View 2. While it confirmed to be soon launched in the US through AT&T, there is no confirmation about its exclusivity.
Unlike the Galaxy View, the upcoming Galaxy View 2 will come with new hinged kickstand design. The kickstand can be adjusted up to 30-degree and the tablet can lay flat when it is completely closed. The huge hole on the kickstand should offer better grip while carrying the tablet around. While the company introduced the Media UX UI with the original Galaxy View, we don’t think it will be used on this new tablet. It will be coming in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants.
Compared to the 18.4-inch Galaxy View, the Galaxy View 2 sports a slightly smaller 17.5-inch display. It might mostly offer the same Full HD resolution as its predecessor. Talking about the internals, the tablet will be powered by the 14nm Exynos 7885 octa-core processor. With the entry-level chipset, the Galaxy View 2 will be only suitable for consuming multimedia content or playing basic games. We don’t think this chipset can handle anything beyond that.
Also, there is no information about the S Pen support. The Galaxy View 2 is expected to be priced the same as its predecessor. We need to wait for the official launch to get complete details about this tablet. Since the company now has its own voice assistant called Bixby, it should get the smart display features. Even the original Galaxy View tablet also offered entry-level specifications. It came with Exynos 7580 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU.
There is just 2GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. The Galaxy View with 18.4-inch display is backed by a 5,700mAh that is rated to give 8 hours of continuous video playback. It then came with Android 5.1 Lollipop and offered Media UX UI customized for larger displays. There is also a 2.1MP on the front side for making video calls. With the 2x 4W speakers, the tablet also offered stereo sound effect. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for details!
