Samsung is all set to officially unveil the new Galaxy Note smartphone next month, however, we are also expecting the company to unveil another smartphone, i.e. the Galaxy S8 Active. As we all know, every year, Samsung launches an active variant of the Galaxy S8 smartphone and this year also is no exception. We have spotted this smartphone a couple of times online, however, now we have hands on a high-res render of this smartphone, thanks to Evan Blass.
Taking a look at this image, the thing you can notice is that the physical buttons on the front are gone. These physical buttons were seen on all the active variants, however, now this new S8 Active renders lack the physical buttons. The front is almost taken by the infinity display, just like the regular variants. The top also houses a bunch of sensors like the Iris scanner, front-facing camera, and other sensors like ambient light sensors, etc.
Being an active variant, the Galaxy S8 Active has a hard-shell casing which surrounds the body. The margins are also raised in order to protect the display on the front. On the right-hand side, there is a power button and we hope the Bixby button, as well as the Volume rockers, sits to the left side of the device. So, overall, the render shows us a rugged design just like one would expect from an Active variant of the smartphone.
Now, talking about the specs, the previously reported rumors tell us that the display on the front will be a is a 5.8-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. As you might have noticed, it is not curved, but we do have rounded edges. And similar to the previous active variant, the Galaxy S8 Active is drop-proof from a height of up to 5 feet and just like the other active variants, this one will also pack a massive battery with 4,000 mAh capacity.

Apart from that, you can expect the Galaxy S8 Active to have pretty much the exact same set of specs as that of the regular Galaxy S8. So essentially, we are looking at the same device in a much harder shell. Talking about the availability, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active will be available in the US via AT&T. AT&T has been the only carrier to offer this smartphone in the U.S. and as far as the pricing goes, we should be getting more info on that very soon and hence we suggest you stay tuned to us.
