Samsung Galaxy S10 Might Come with In-display Selfie Camera

Samsung is long rumored to introduce the in-display fingerprint sensor with its flagship Galaxy smartphones. While a few Chinese manufacturers are already selling smartphones with an in-display fingerprint sensor, Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Note 9 still came with a rear-facing capacitive fingerprint scanner. We already know that the company is working on the in-display fingerprint scanning technology, now the latest leak confirms the development of an in-display camera.
The earlier leaks hinted the upcoming Galaxy S10 smartphones to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, we also expect the Galaxy S10 to include the in-display camera technology. In case, the device features an in-display fingerprint sensor and in-display front camera, then the complete front side should be occupied by the display. Also, the company has to find alternatives for the physical earpiece and sensors.
Talking about the in-display camera technology by Samsung, the front camera will be placed beneath the display. When the user tries to access the front camera, the display pixel above the camera sensor will become transparent in order to pass the light. While we see the best smartphone displays on Samsung phones, we hope the displays that can go transparent will not disappoint us. Since the company also offers IRIS sensor on the front, it might also work in the same way as the front camera.
To make complete bezel-less smartphones, Vivo and OPPO offered pop-out cameras. The Vivo NEX launched earlier this year came with hidden proximity sensor and Screen SoundCasting Technology that replaces the physical earpiece. Lets wait and see what else Samsung brings new to the smartphone market.
