Samsung Galaxy M40 to come with 6GB RAM & Snapdragon 675 SoC, Geekbench test leaked

Samsung has introduced its new Galaxy M series with the launch of the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 smartphones, a couple of months ago. And, not long ago, there was a new Wi-Fi certification leaked, which suggested the new Galaxy M40 is in the pipeline. The earlier leak had revealed the upcoming Galaxy M40 model number – SM-M405F in the Wi-Fi certification website. While there wasn’t any further information revealed other than the model number, there seems to be a new Geekbench report leaked spilling additional details regarding the upcoming Galaxy M40 smartphone.

A new report from Nashville Chatter has revealed the Geekbench listing of the new anticipated Galaxy M40 smartphone, which further revealed the device model bearing SM-M405F running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 SoC alongside 6GB of RAM as well. After the recent Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification, this new Geekbench test indeed suggests the launch of Galaxy M30 is imminent in sometime soon. The Geekbench test had further indicated the Galaxy M40 running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie, which suggests that it would be shipping with OneUI running out-of-the-box, unlike the other Galaxy M devices, which shipped with Android Oreo.

As for the Geekbench test is concerned, the Galaxy M40 bearing SM-M405F has scored 2350 in single core test, and 6410 is a multi-core test, which is certainly higher than its previous Galaxy M devices, launched earlier this year. There isn’t any precise information about the design and display yet, but, going by the earlier models, we can expect a polycarbonate body and other speculations suggest that the device would be coming up with a Super AMOLED Infinity U display with Full HD+ resolution.

There were rumors earlier that tipped that the Galaxy M40 would supposedly be offered in 128GB onboard storage and may also come with triple or quad rear cameras set up as well. The device is said to be coming with a bigger battery capacity hinting a 5000mAh battery, which is still speculative. While the Galaxy M30 (powered by Exynos 7904 SoC) launched earlier was priced Rs 17,990 in the country for the 6+128GB variant, we can expect the upcoming Galaxy M40 to be priced slightly higher resulting in the premium mid-range segment. Stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
