Samsung Galaxy M40 Goes on Open Sale in India

Update — Samsung Galaxy M40 is one of aggressively priced Samsung smartphone available in the market. It is also the first Galaxy smartphone to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform. It was made available for the first time on June 18th via Amazon.in and Samsung online store. In less than a week, the company made the device available via open sale. It competes with the Motorola One Vision and the upcoming Vivo Z1 Pro smartphones. It is available in Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue color options. As said earlier, the Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and is priced Rs 19,990.
Earlier (June 11th, 2019) — A few months back, Samsung introduced the all-new Galaxy M series to target smartphone buyers who prefer shopping online. In just a few months span, the company has already sold over 2 million Galaxy M smartphones. With the focus on budget smartphones, the company is also targetting to double its online smartphone sales in 2019. The latest addition to the already popular Galaxy M series is the all-new Galaxy M40. It was officially unveiled at an event held today in New Delhi, India. The Galaxy M40 offers the premium features at an aggressive price.
Talking about the design, the Galaxy M40 comes with a glossy finish polycarbonate body with cured edges and gradient finish. On the front, the device sports 6.3-inch Infinity-O display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display on this device offers over 91% screen-to-body ratio and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Also, it comes with on-screen sound technology which turns the display into a speaker. Unlike the Galaxy S10e, the camera cut-out on the Galaxy M40 is on the top left corner.
Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU. The Galaxy M40 comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The users can also further expand the storage using the MicroSD card slot. Coming to the cameras, the Galaxy M40 sports triple camera setup on the rear featuring 32MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
The in-display camera on the front includes a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery and supports 15W adaptive fast charging. However, the Galaxy M40 misses out the 3.5mm audio jack which is even present on their flagship Galaxy S10 series. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with the latest One UI skin laid on top. The One UI offers system-wide dark mode without the need of waiting for Android Q. It also comes with Wideline L1 certification for streaming HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
There is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear and also supports face unlock. The Samsung Galaxy M40 comes in Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue color options. Coming to the pricing, the Galaxy M40 will be costing just Rs 19,990 for the 6GB + 128GB storage variant. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India and Samsung online store starting June 18th.
