Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) & J7 (2016) with AMOLED Display & 13MP Camera Certified by TENAA

Recently we saw the glimpse of the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus through the TENAA listing, and now we have the first look and specs details of Galaxy J5 (2016) & Galaxy J7 (2016), all thanks to TENAA again. The new Galaxy J5 & J7 comes with a metallic frame around the device with a plastic removable back panel.

From the front, the devices look similar to their predecessors while on the back we notice the laser autofocus assisting the rear camera. It also shows the Android Pay logo on the back hinting the device may come with a fingerprint sensor that might be integrated into the physical home button on the front.

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016)  SM-J5108

The new Galaxy J5 (2016) sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI overlaid.

Comparison: Galaxy J5 (2015) vs Galaxy J5 (2016)

It features 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus and LED flash, and on the front is a 5MP selfie camera. It also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers connectivity features like 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The 2016 Galaxy J5 measures 145.7 x 72.3 x 7.9 mm and weighs 155.4 grams. It will be available in the colors – White, Gold, and Pink.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) SM-J7109 & SM-J7108

The Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a slightly larger and better 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display. The SM-J7109 comes powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor while the SM-J7108 includes a 1.6GHz octa-core processor. Apart from this both the variants comes with same specifications. It has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot.

It has the same 13MP + 5MP camera as seen on the Galaxy J5 (2016). The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and supports dual SIM dual standby option. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.6 mm and weighs around 165 grams. The Galaxy J7 (2016) will be available in White+Gold and Black+Gold colors.

While the above mentioned details are based on the TENAA listing, these are not yet confirmed by the Samsung. While there is no official date mentioned for the launch of these devices, we can expect that to happen soon as they already got certified by TENAA. Stay tune for more update!
