Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) & Galaxy J7 (2016) Launched in India, Price starts from Rs. 13,990

As announced earlier, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy J5 (2016) & Galaxy J7 (2016) in India today. Both the devices are already launched in China and Japan. In March, the company also launched the Galaxy J3 (2016) with S Bike mode. Talking about the latest devices, the Galaxy J5 (2016) & J7 (2016) are the successors for Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 that are launched in July 2015. These two devices also include S Bike mode along with Ultra Data Saving and Ultra Power Saving Modes.

Samsung Galaxy  J5 (2016)

The Galaxy J5 (2016) comes with 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The device includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via provided MicroSD card slot. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based customized TouchWiz UI while in China and Japan, the device came with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE on any one SIM. Coming to the camera department, it includes 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.9 and laser autofocus. There is also a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Bot the rear and front cameras are assisted with LED flash. It is backed by a 3,100mAh battery and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016)

Compared to the Galaxy J5 (2016), the Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a slightly larger 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with same 720p resolution. The same device was launched in China with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage along with a MicroSD card slot. The device packs a 13MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera.

The device supports dual SIM and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow same as Galaxy J5 (2016). It is kept powered on by a 3,300mAh battery which is slightly on the higher side when compared to Galaxy J5 (2016). Connectivity options remain same as the earlier mentioned device. Even with a bigger battery, the Galaxy J7 (2016) is 0.3mm slimmer than the Galaxy J5 (2016) which measures 8.1mm thickness.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) will be sold exclusively through Flipkart starting from May 10th. Both these devices will be available in Gold, Black, and White colors. Talking about the pricing, the Galaxy J5 (2016) is priced at Rs. 13,990 while the Galaxy J7 (2016) costs Rs. 15,990.
