Samsung Galaxy A Star Gets Bluetooth SIG Certification

In the last couple of months, we have seen rumors about the Galaxy S8 Lite / S9 Lite smartphone. It comes with the model number SM-G8750 and is rumored to launch on May 21st in China. Along with the SM-G8750, another device with the model number SM-G8850 got certified by TENAA. Now, the SM-G8850 is listed on the Bluetooth SIG website as Galaxy A Star. It also comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 support.

The earlier rumors suggested the SM-G8850 to be launched as Galaxy A8 Star. It comes with a glass back body and sports iPhone X-like vertical dual cameras on the rear. The device sports 6.28-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. While there is no confirmation, the device might come in two variants powered by Qualcomm and in-house Exynos processors.

It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expandable using the MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, the device sports 24MP + 16MP dual cameras on the rear and a single 24MP selfie camera on the front. It is backed by a 3,700mAh non-removable battery. The device measures 162.4 × 77.0 × 7.55 mm and weighs 188 grams. The TENAA listing the Galaxy A Star to be available in Black and White color options.

Along with the dual camera setup, we can also spot the fingerprint sensor on the rear. On the connectivity front, the Galaxy A Star comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, NFC, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. As of now, there is no information about the launch date of this device. However, the company might unveil the Galaxy A Star alongside the Galaxy S8 Lite / S9 Lite on May 21st in China.
