Samsung is planning to launch Galaxy Note 7 on August 19th in China. The device with the model number SM-N9300 listed on TENAA revealed the device to feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. Dong Jin Koh, head of Samsung Mobiles confirmed at yesterday’s media event in South Korea that the Galaxy Note 7 will be launched with doubled storage in China as Chinese love the devices with higher storage capacity.
Now we can confirm that the device will not only launch with doubled 128GB of storage but also includes 6GB of RAM. While OnePlus 3 is the only smartphone to be available globally with 6GB of RAM, there are almost half a dozen devices with 6GB of RAM in China. The Vivo XPlay 5 launched in the first half of 2016 is the first device to feature 6GB of RAM.
Earlier: August 5th, 2016 – Samsung had globally launched Galaxy Note 7 (SM-N9300) smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked in NewYork. While the device is yet to be launched in two largest smartphone markets India and China. We exclusively reported about the India launch date of the Galaxy Note 7 as August 11th and the preorders are also expected to go live on that same day. But in China, the company might be planning to launch Galaxy Note 7 with a couple of upgrades.
The TENAA listing mentioned the device to feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage while the company had officially launched with just 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Apart from these two upgrades, rest of the specifications will remain same. There is also MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage additionally up to 256GB. The device runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest TouchWiz UI, and the Android 7.0 Nougat update can be expected once it officially released.
It sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display with the latest Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. While in U.S, the device will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset; but in China and India, the device will get the in-house 2.3GHz Exynos octa-core processor. The camera on the Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge is highly appreciated, and the company is using the same camera sensors on the Galaxy Note 7. Both the 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera comes with an aperture of F/1.7.
Samsung also introduced new features for the first time in the Galaxy Note series. The device gets IP68 certification making it both waterproof and dustproof. It also sports IRIS scanner and USB Type-C port which we are seeing for the first time on the Galaxy range smartphones. Since the IRIS scanner doesn’t work with those who wear glasses and lens, there is a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button.
