Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) & A7 (2016) Launched in China, Pricing Starts from $370
Update – The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) that are announced earlier this month are now officially launched in China. Both the devices come with a fingerprint sensor and NFC, which makes them eligible for Samsung Pay. The devices are available in Gold, Black, White and Pink colors. Coming to the pricing, the Galaxy A5 (2016) is priced at 2,398 Yuan (approx $370 / Rs. 24,550) while the Galaxy A7 (2016) will cost you 2,699 Yuan (approx $416 / Rs. 27,650).
The 2016 Galaxy A7 comes with a bigger display and battery when compared to the 2016 Galaxy A5. While the A7 has 3GB of RAM, the A5 is limited to just 2GB of RAM; the other specifications remain same on both the devices. There is no information about the availability of the devices in the other markets.
The recently launched Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 along with Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 are first launched in China and were later expanded to other markets including India. The Galaxy A3 (2016) can be expected to be launched in the next few weeks. If the rumors are to be believed the international launch of 2016 Galaxy A series will happen on January 8th. Earlier: Dec 3, 2015 – We have seen many rumors and leaks about the 2016 Galaxy A series including Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7. Earlier today we had reported about the TENAA listing of Galaxy A5, and now the company officially announced all the three devices. Along with the changes in design, the company had upgraded the specifications and added fingerprint sensor for improved privacy.

While the 2016 Galaxy A5 and 2016 Galaxy A7 includes the fingerprint sensor, this feature is missed out in the 2016 Galaxy A3 for making more budget friendly. With the added fingerprint sensor, the users can also access Samsung Pay for mobile payments. Now let’s talk in-depth about all the three devices.
Samsung Galaxy A3 2016: (Specifications & Images)
The 2016 Galaxy A3 comes with the same 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display as seen on the original Galaxy A3. Under the hood is the 1.5GHz quad-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM. It also has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB and is backed by the non-removable 2,300mAh battery.
On the camera part, the device has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an aperture of f/1.9. It has a 5MP selfie camera with the same f/1.9 aperture that can give better images in low light conditions. The dual SIM device offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures just 7.3mm thick and weighs 132 grams.
Samsung Galaxy A5 2016: (Specifications & Images)
The 2016 Galaxy A5 also comes with few similar specifications when compared to the original Galaxy A5. As rumored earlier, it comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core processor. The device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with MicroSD card slot. The big addition to the smartphone is the fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button.
It has the same set of cameras as on he Galaxy A3, but the rear camera includes Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that can capture images without blurs. The device has a 2,900mAh battery that can give at least a day of battery life. While the device measures same 7.3m thick as 2016 Galaxy A3, with the bigger display and battery, it weighs more at 155 grams.
Samsung Galaxy A7 2016: (Specifications & Images)
The last device and bigger device among the three is the 2016 Galaxy A7 that comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It has same processor and cameras as on the 2016 Galaxy A5. The device includes 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 3,300mAh battery. It feels heavy in hand by weighing 172 grams.
While all the devices come with dual SIM support, only 2016 Galaxy A5 and A7 supports Cat 6 LTE whereas 2016 Galaxy A3 is limited to Cat 4 LTE. The 2016 Galaxy A series devices runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI overlaid and are also expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The devices will be available in the colors – White, Black, Gold, Rose Gold.
The design of the devices is slightly changed from original Galaxy A series device, the 2016 Galaxy A series devices comes with rounded edges and a speaker placed on bottom edge. Talking about the availability, the 2016 Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 will be first launched in China by mid-December and will be expanded to other global markets.
