Samsung is expected to launch the new Galaxy S8 Active very soon and now it looks like the launch will be very soon since the smartphone has now been spotted at the FCC. Usually, the smartphone spotted at the FCC gets launched very soon, and hence the same can be expected from the same. Taking a look at the FCC certification, we pretty much get to see the same exact set of specs which we had last time. The specs on this are expected to match the ones on the regular Galaxy S8 variants.
The FCC certification does give an insight as to what we should expect in terms of the design of this smartphone. As we all know, the Active variants are expected to be different than the regular variants for obvious reasons. The active is going to be much durable and hence the design changes are expected. Typically the active variants will have a protective casing around the phone so that the device remains unchanged from falls and damages. It will also have the IP68 water and dust resistance rating, with which you can submerge the phone under water upto meters for 30 minutes.
Also, the Active variant should also have more battery than the regular variant. This is also a common trend which we have been seeing on the previous active variants. Now, talking about the design, the Galaxy S8 Active will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and it will be coupled with 4GB of RAM. It should also be running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box as well. As mentioned earlier, the battery on this is expected to be more than what we had till now, however, it is not exactly known how much capacity it will have. Also, since the device has now been certified by the FCC, it won’t be long until the company actually makes this. Let us know your thought on this by leaving a comment down below.
