Qualcomm’s Next-gen Flagship Snapdragon 8150 Chipset Gets Bluetooth Certified

Qualcomm will be unveiling the successor to Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform by the end of this year. Earlier this week, the Android 9.0 Pie update for a flagship Samsung Galaxy smartphone first revealed a new Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset called Snapdragon 8105. Now, the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with the model number SM8150 spotted on the Bluetooth certification website.

Just like its predecessor, the upcoming Snapdragon 8150 also comes with Bluetooth 5.0 certification. While the current-gen flagship Qualcomm chipset is called as Snapdragon 845, the company seems to tweak the naming with its successor. Earlier this year, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 850 chipset for the Windows devices. The Snapdragon 850 is built based on the Snapdragon 845. There are also chances that the Snapdragon 8150 making its public appearance as Snapdragon 855.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 will be built using the 7nm FinFET process. The recently unveiled Kirin 980 and Apple A12 Bionic chips are also built on the 7nm node. We should be seeing more leaks about the Snapdragon 8150 in the coming weeks. The new flagship smartphones powered by Snapdragon 8150 will be hitting the markets in the March 2019.
