Qualcomm 215 SoC With 64-Bit CPU, Adreno 308 GPU, and Dual Rear Cameras Support Launched

After more than a couple of years of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 SoC launch, the chipset maker has added another product to its 2-series product portfolio. The chipset maker has announced its latest Qualcomm 215 Mobile Platform. This is Qualcomm’s newest processor made for entry-level smartphones that aims to have a stable and abiding performance.
The new Qualcomm 215 chipset brings in the 64-bit architecture to the entry-level segment rather than the 32-bit architecture of its previous iteration, which further helps in running the standard 64-bit applications swiftly. The Qualcomm 215 SoC brings in Adreno 308 GPU and comes integrated with chipset makers’ Hexagano DSP that claims to support more than five days of music playback.
The new GPU is also said to be supporting more than ten hours of video playback as well, which is commendable by the company bringing it to the entry-level smartphones. As for gaming, the chipset is likely to improve gaming performance by 28 percent than the predecessor too. On the whole, the new 64-bit 215 mobile platform from Qualcomm is said to be having performance speed boosted by 50 percent when compared to the older 32-bit processor.
Moreover, the Qualcomm 215 SoC also supports Quick Charge technology that is claimed to have charging speeds 75 percent faster than the predecessor. Additionally, the Qualcomm 215 SoC supports dual rear cameras for the entry-level smartphones — thanks to the dual ISPs introduced with the new chipset and also the first in its series as well. This latest chipset is capable of capturing 13MP photos and further comes with HD+ 19.5:9 display resolution capabilities too. The Qualcomm 215 SoC also supports video recording of up to HD resolution.
As for the connectivity is concerned, the new Qualcomm 215 SoC comes with the company’s Snapdragon X5 modem with LTE support and also supports EVS Voice calls along with Dual VoLTE capabilities as well. Besides, the device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and NFC Payments for Android OEMs and further supports USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.2 additionally. And for storage options, the chipset is capable of supporting RAM of up to 3GB.
