QiKU Q Terra 808 is the new device launched by QiKU Network Technologies, which is a joint venture of Coolpad and the software giant Qihoo 360. This device was launched along with Q Terra 810 in the month of November and will run on 360 OS based on Android. The device gets its software from Qihoo 360 and hardware from world’s largest smartphone manufacturers – Coolpad. This 6-inch device is powered by a Snapdragon 808 Hexa Core Processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM.

How to insert the SIM card on your device?

QiKU Q Terra 808 comes with a non-removable back panel and battery and hence the SIM card slots are present on the left side. To insert an SIM card, power off your device and push the SIM ejector pin in the holes provided. The SIM card tray pop’s out and now place the SIM card on the tray and push it back to its position and boot your device. You have successfully inserted SIM card on your device. The second port is a hybrid slot wherein you can use it to insert an external microSD card slot or a secondary SIM.

What is the type of SIM supported on this device?

The device is a Dual SIM variant with dual standby and uses one micro-SIM card, and as the second SIM slot is a Hybrid slot, you can use it for placing the second SIM or else an external memory card to extend the memory accordingly.

How to share your Data network via Tethering on the device?

Sharing of the Data Network on the device can be done using the tethering mode on the device. To share a Data network on your device, open the Settings and tap on Mobile hotspot and tethering. In the new window, click on Mobile hotspot and tap on the off button to enable that on your device. You can also set up the password by tapping on the more button and clicking on configuring mobile hotspot.

How to take a Screenshot on my device?

There are two ways in which you can capture a screenshot on your device.

Method 1:
Screenshot can be captured by pressing the power/lock button along with volume down button simultaneously until you here a click or feel the vibration.

Method 2:
The second method is the gesture method that must be enabled on your device. In this method, the screenshot is captured just by swiping the three fingers from top to bottom or vice versa on your device.

The screenshot is captured and saved to the gallery option on your device and can be quickly accessed from the notification panel immediately after the capture.

How to check for the Android Updates on the device?

To check for updates on Q Terra 808 manually, open the settings tap on About device in the System section. In the new window, tap on Software Updates and click on update now. The device checks for updates and if any update is available, it downloads it initially which the user has to install. Make sure that the battery on the device is more than 50 %. Software updates will be fixings the bugs and also optimizes the device.

How to use the Battery and Power saving modes on Q Terra 808?

To use the Battery and power saving mode on your device, open the Settings and tap on battery. In the new window, you will find the options in power saving section, click on the power saving mode that you want to apply. In the new window, toggle the off button to apply that on your device.

What are the sensors available on the phone?

The device comes with sensors like Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Gyro, and Barometer. These are the conventional sensors that are available on most devices and help the users in many ways by determining the distance they travelled, the location that they are in, etc. The device also has a finger print sensor that will provide high security.

Are there LED notification lights on the device?

Yes, the devices come with LED notifications light that are placed on the top just beside the speaker. This light will blink whenever there is a notification or a missed call on the device making sure that its user will not miss any important message.

Yes, the device supports USB OTG (On the Go) drive. This is used to transfer date easily from phone to the device or vice versa using the File manager app. This feature will be helpful when you have to carry a lot of data, and the device does not have enough of it.

This device comes with a 3 GB RAM, but out of 3 GB only 1.8 GB is available to the user and the rest of it is utilized by the system OS and the other background applications

Will Q Terra 808 get Android Marshmallow 6.0 Update?

The handset currently runs Android 5.1 based operating system, but there isn’t any information about the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update on the device. We would love to see the device getting the update soon.

This handset comes with a 3700 mAh battery with quick charge support. This is an excellent battery on this 6-inch device, and it can easily last an entire day with normal usage.

What type of camera is used on QiKU Q Terra 808?

The device comes with dual cameras of 13MP resolution each on the rear with dual tone LED flash. One lens is known for its RGBW colors and mono sensors. To turn on the Do not disturb mode on the device, go to the settings of the device and select personalization where you can see the Do not disturb mode that has to be toggled on. In this mode, all the call and other notifications will be muted, and the lock screen will not wake up. The user also has the option to select the calls that they can receive and can also schedule the timing of this mode. You also have the option to turn on the option of enabling the second call from the same number within a span of 10 minutes.

What are the Screen actions options available?

After heading to the Screen actions option from the settings of the device, we can see the options like

• Flip cover mode: This will activate the flip cover display.
• Flip cover display: This will wake up the device when the flip cover is opened.

Q Terra 808 can be reset by selecting the option Backup & reset from settings. Here we can find the last option as Factory data reset, which needs to be tapped to reset the device to factory image. This device comes with a Fingerprint sensor that will be used to securing the device. For adding a fingerprint sensor on to the handset, open the settings and tap on lock screen and security. In the new window, tap on fingerprints and click on Add Fingerprint and tap on the Confirm button in the pop-up. Now place the finger on the home key and lift it when you feel the vibration and again place it to add the fingerprint on your device. Once the fingerprint is added a success message is displayed on the screen. Now you need to create the backup password and re-enter it to confirm and click on the OK, just in case if you want to give access to some else or you are not in a position to use the fingerprint sensor.

By going in to the settings of the device and selecting the option securities and fingerprint, you can set-up the fingerprint touch options.
