Qihoo 360 Launches N4S Smartphone with Snapdragon 625 SoC & 64GB Storage
In July this year, Qihoo 360, the Chinese smartphone brand had launched its latest smartphone 360 N4S as the successor to the earlier launched 360 N4. Apart from the internal upgrades, the device came with an all metal body instead of plastic. Today, the company has relaunched the 360 N4S smartphone with few changes in the specifications. Externally, the device looks same as the earlier launched variant. However, the main difference is that the newly launched variant comes with Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, whereas the earlier launched variant came with MediaTek’s Helio X20 deca-core processor. The base variant of the Snapdragon powered 360 N4S comes with 64GB of storage instead of 32GB as seen earlier.
The 16MP + 8MP rear and front cameras assisted by LED flash remain same. The USP of 360 N4S is the 5,000mAh non-removable battery, but the company isn’t offering Qualcomm Quick Charge support. The 9V1.5A power adapter is the same which have seen on the Helio X20 powered variant. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest 360 OS 2.0 skin on top. The new 360 N4S is priced at 1299 Yuan and will be on sale starting from November 2nd in China. In between, Qihoo 360 also launched the 360 N4A smartphone with metal body and 3GB RAM. After rebranding the company from Qihoo to 360, none of the smartphones are launched outside of China and we don’t expect this device to available in the foreign markets as well.
Earlier: July 15, 2016 – The 360 N4 is the most affordable Helio X20 powered smartphone that is priced at just 899 Yuan (approx $134 / Rs. 9,000) and also includes 4GB of RAM. While the design looks same as the 360 N4, the newly launched 360 N4S sports an all metal body instead of the polycarbonate shell. It sports a 5.5-inch In-cell display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and a 2.5D glass laid on top. Under the hood is the same 2.0 GHz Helio X20 deca-core processor as seen on 360 N4 and also includes 4GB of RAM. It comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants and also includes MicroSD card slot for expanding additionally upto 128GB. The IR blaster on the top edge can be used for controlling the household electronic like TV, Fan, AC, and others.
In the camera department, the 360 N4S features a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture while the 360 N4 came with a 13MP sensor. For selfies, the device packs an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and FotoNation 4.0 beauty mode. Both the front and rear cameras are equipped with LED flash. The fingerprint sensor on this device can unlock in just 0.38 seconds and can also be used for different functions such as answering calls and as shutter button in the camera app. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support by the provided 9V1.5A power adapter. With 10 minutes of charging, the 360 N4S can give four hours of talk time. The device also supports reverse charging, with which we can charge other devices with the OTG cable.
It supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot and offers 4G LTE with VoLTE support. It measures 151.3 x 74.6 x 8.35 mm and weighs 169 grams. Connectivity options for the 360 N4S include 4G, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, USB OTG, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. With all those high-end specifications and sturdy build quality, the device costs just 1199 Yuan (approx $180 / Rs. 12,000) for 32GB storage variant.
