Panasonic has announced its latest smartphone in the P series, the P55 Novo. The device is priced at Rs 9,290, which is a follow-up to the P55 launched in November last year. Said to be available for the purchase from the first week of July, the device according to the company is a selfie-focused smartphone running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS out of the box. The interface has been kept to the Android Stock, which surprising as the company has its custom UI.
The P55 Novo boasts a 13MP autofocus rear camera with triple LED flash, as well as housing a 5MP front facing the camera with LED flash. The device is powered by an Octa-Core processor (unspecified) clocking at 1.4 GHz, which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. It packs 8GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, though.
Talking about the connectivity options, the smartphone offers 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and few other basic sets of options. All this is powered by a 2500 mAh battery that should be enough to get you through the day, although, the company hasn’t specified any standard talk time and standby time.
The cameras are not the only interesting features of P55 Novo, as company has included a featured called TapPlay, which would allow users to wake up the smartphone without pressing the power button, i.e. tap to wake up. The Gesture Play feature is also included, which would allow users to launch the apps using gestures. The would be available in three color variants, Champagne Gold, Smoke Gray and Midnight Blue.
The craze of selfie smartphones has been a trendsetter for the India, as many smartphone brands have launched the selfie-focused phone, including the likes of Sony, HTC, Micromax, etc. It is about time someone steps the game further in this market.
