Panasonic Eluga Tapp Smartphone with Front Fingerprint Sensor Launched at Rs. 8,990

Panasonic, the Indian smartphone manufacturer company had recently launched a new smartphone called as Panasonic P77 that came with entry-level specifications and priced at 6,990 INR. Now, this brand has come up with a new smartphone in the category of eluga series which is called as Panasonic Eluga Tapp and is priced at Rs. 8,990. This smartphone comes with a front fingerprint scanner that allows you to unlock your phone quickly and securely, adding essential security to your data. The phone comes with an add-on security feature ‘Android for Work’ that allows the user to separate personal applications from work applications and also protects user’s personal data.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, “As we store more and more information on our phones and share it in ever more riskier ways, Fingerprint scanning has emerged as the most popular biometric technology. Much of the time, our personal information and details are protected by just the few hastily thought-out numbers in our passwords which we store in our phone. The new lightning fast front fingerprint sensor in Panasonic Eluga Tapp gives you a convenient way to unlock your device and secure your personal data. The scanner will be able to recognize your fingers and thumbs in a split second, topped with Android-for-work integration.”

This smartphone features a stylish 5 inch (12.7 cm) IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and offers a pixel density of 441 PPI and 16.7M colors. It comes equipped with an unknown Quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM and there is a 16GB of inbuilt storage that can support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB). On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.

Regarding the camera, this smartphone packs an 8MP rear camera with autofocus for clear pictures that can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. On the front, it has 5MP front camera for selfie addicts. Powering the entire device is a powerful 2800mAh capacity battery that ensures that it gives a longer operation, where Lithium-Polymer gel based battery cells are safer, reliable and is delivering a longer durability. It is measured by 143 x 71 x 8.15 mm in dimensions and weighs in at 138 grams which is quite light weight.

The Panasonic Eluga Tapp comes with a premium looking design and is loaded with state of the art connectivity features including GPS, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, Micro-USB port and Dual-SIM (4G/3G+2G) maximizing your connectivity with the world. It will be available in Champagne Gold & Silver Grey. The company is offering a smartphone with a protective screen cover that protects the display of the smartphone. It is priced at 8,990 INR and will be available in all retailer stores across the country.

At this price range, there are much better alternatives available in the market from Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Lenovo, and Coolpad.
