Apart from the major Chinese smartphone manufacturers, this year we have seen some affordable smartphones from the smaller brands like UMI, Elephone, Oukitel, Bluboo and others. These smartphones come with basic specifications and are priced much lower than the smartphones from major brands. Now one of those lesser know brands, Oukitel has announced a new entry-level smartphone called Oukitel C5 Pro. As of now, there is no information about the pricing or the exact launch date of the device. But seeing the specifications, we can expect the device to cost around $100.

Even though the C5 Pro might come with an affordable price tag, but the company is offering a metal body with a textured finish and curved edges. It sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. With a smaller 5-inch display, the device can be easily handled even with a single hand. The company mentioned the display to come with protective glass, but we are not sure whether it is a Corning Gorilla Glass or Asahi Dragontrail Glass. According to the company, the display on this device has 9H hardness and more than 800Mpa stress value.

It is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with Mali T720 GPU. The recently launched the Gionee P7 priced at Rs. 9,999 is also powered by the same processor. The C5 Pro packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via provided MicroSD card slot. Apart from these mentioned specifications, there is no information about the other details of the device. Though these companies normally offer the fingerprint sensor even with the budget smartphones, the Oukitel might skip this feature with the C5 Pro.

From the images, we can’t find the sensor on the back of the device, and we don’t think this device to feature it on the front. We also expect the device to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the slightly customized UI on top. We will share all the details once the device is officially launched. Last month, the company had launched Oukitel U20 Plus smartphone priced at $120. At this price, the device offers a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor. It comes with the same 2GB RAM and 16GB storage as seen with the above mentioned device.

Talking about the cameras, it has a dual camera setup on the rear with 13MP and 2MP sensors. While on the front is a 5MP fixed focus camera for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that can give a day long battery life with this basic hardware. The U20 Plus also sports a fingerprint sensor and comes with all the basic connectivity features including 4G LTE. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The device measures 154 x 77.5 x 8.5 mm and feels a bit bulky by weighing 195 grams. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
