The recently released teaser video confirmed the OPPO R17 Pro to sport triple cameras. Now, the company has officially launched the OPPO R17 Pro in China. In terms of design, the OPPO R17 Pro looks exactly similar to OPPO R17. However, it comes with an additional camera sensor on the rear. Also, there are a slew of new features exclusive to the elder sibling. Unlike the triple camera setup on the Huawei P20 Pro, the OPPO R17 Pro uses two sensors for capturing photos and the third sensor for Time of Flight (TOF) 3D Sensing.
With the TOF sensor, the device can get high-precision 3D depth information for capturing 3D photos. The company has earlier used the same technology for the front camera on the OPPO Find X. After introducing the Super VOOC Flash Charge technology with the Find X Lamborghini Edition, the company is offering its latest fast charging technology with the OPPO R17 Pro. It sports 3,700mAh battery and can be charged from 0% to 40% in just 10 minutes using the 10V/5A (50W) Super VOOC Flash Charger. It comes with the gradient finish body with curved edges.
On the front is a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Under the hood is the newly launched 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 360 CPU and Adreno 616 GPU. It comes coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The OPPO R17 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 out of the box. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor on the front. It measures 157.6 × 74.6 × 7.9 mm and weighs 183 grams.
Coming to the cameras, the device sports 12MP primary sensor with f/1.5-f/2.4 smart aperture and OIS, and a 20MP secondary sensor with f/2.6 aperture. As mentioned above, the third one on the rear is the TOF 3D sensor. For selfies, the OPPO R17 Pro comes with the same 25MP front camera used on the OPPO R17. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The OPPO R17 Pro is priced at 4299 Yuan (approx $630 / Rs 44,000) and will go on sale starting October. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
