Earlier this year, OPPO launched the OPPO K1 smartphone in the Indian market for Rs 16,990. It is the most affordable smartphone to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Now, the company announced a permanent price cut of Rs 2,000 on the OPPO K1. With the recent price drop, the device is now available for just Rs 14,990. It is available exclusively on Flipkart and comes in Astral Blue and Piano Black color options.
On the front, the OPPO K1 comes equipped with a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. With the waterdrop notch on the top, the display on this device offers 91% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 256GB.
Even the newly Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S smartphone also comes powered by the same Snapdragon 660 chipset. In the camera department, the OPPO K1 sports 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup with f/1.75 aperture and LED flash. For selfies, there is a 25MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. However, the device ships with the older Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 out of the box. The company also didn’t mention any ETA for the latest ColorOS 6 OTA update based Android 9.0 Pie.
As said earlier, the OPPO K1 comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front and also supports face unlock using the front camera. It is backed by a 3,600mAh non-removable battery and lacks fast charging support. The company is only providing a 5V/2A (10W) power adapter within the box. A couple of days back, the company also announced a price cut of up to Rs 2,000 on OPPO F11 Pro & OPPO A5 smartphones in India. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
