As announced earlier, OPPO has launched its latest OPPO F9 Pro smartphone today in India. This is the same OPPO F9 which was already launched in Vietnam. However, the OPPO F9 in India comes with lower resolution cameras and lacks VOOC Flash Charge support. Talking about the OPPO F9 Pro, the device will be replacing the last-gen OPPO F7 Plus smartphone. Apart from the latest hardware, the new OPPO F9 Pro also comes with the refreshed design. It comes with the textured back body and offers gradient finish.
The device will be available in Starry Purple, Twilight Blue, and Sunrise Red color options. It sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) waterdrop screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The V-shaped notch on the top is very small compared to other smartphones. The display on this device also offers a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. Talking about the performance, it comes powered by 12nm MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It offers 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256GB using a MicroSD card slot.
In terms of optics, the OPPO F9 offers a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/1.85 aperture, AR stickers, and AI scene detection. On the front is a 25MP selfie HDR camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI Beautification 2.1. The device sports fingerprint sensor on the rear and also supports face unlock. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Color OS 5.2 skin on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery.
For the first time, the company is also integrating the VOOC Flash Charge technology in the F-series. With the 5V/4A (20W) VOOC Flash Charger, the device can give 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging. With the triple card slot, the user can get dual SIM functionality along with a dedicate MicroSD card slot. The device measures 156.7 x 74 x 7.9 mm and weighs 169 grams.
