OPPO A83 is the company’s latest mid-range to launch in China. The company has officially launched this new smartphone today in China. It comes in Champagne Gold and Black color options. The device is currently available for registration and the sales will begin from December 29th. Coming to the pricing, the OPPO A83 costs 1399 Yuan (approx $214 / Rs. 13,700) in China. The device sports metal unibody design with a 2.5D curved glass on the front.
It comes with a 5.7-inch display with the new 18:9 display technology. The edge-to-edge display on this device offers HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution. There is no clear information about the processor inside the OPPO A83 smartphones. According to the TENAA listing, the device packs an octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz. It includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally up to128GB using a MicroSD card slot.
Unlike the earlier launched 18:9 smartphones from OPPO, the new OPPO A83 lacks the fingerprint sensor. However, there is Face Unlock along with the standard PIN and Pattern security measures. Talking about the cameras, the smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It is powered on by a 3,180mAh non-removable battery and lacks the VOOC fast charging technology.
The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with the highly customized ColorOS 3.2 on top. On the connectivity front, the OPPO A83 includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 150.5 × 73.1 × 7.7 mm and weighs 143 grams.
