OnePlus has launched OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones in 2017. Both the devices came with top-notch specifications and superior build quality. The devices are launched with “value for money” price tags and have been the popular flagship devices of last year. Now in 2018, the company will be coming up with the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in the first half and second half of 2018 respectively. Below you find all the details about the OnePlus 6 smartphone.
OnePlus 6 to Come with 19:9 Display & Snapdragon 845 SoC
(March 8th, 2018)
Earlier this week, the TVC of the OPPO R15 smartphone revealed its complete design. If the OnePlus goes with the same strategy as 2017, then the upcoming OnePlus 6 will look same as the OPPO R15. While the OPPO R15 packs higher mid-range specs, the OnePlus 6 will be coming with flagship specifications. Firstly, the device might come with metal frame and glass back body. It will be coming with the model number A6000.
Under the hood, the Oneplus 6 will come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. Talking about the display, we expect the OnePlus 6 to feature a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) resolution. While the OnePlus 5T came with 18:9 aspect ratio, the OnePlus 6 with display notch will change the aspect ratio to 19:9. and since it comes with a notch, it offers unusual 2280 × 1080 pixels resolution.
Just like the last year’s OnePlus smartphones, the upcoming device might also come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. On the Antutu benchmark test, the OnePlus 6 is said to have scored 2,76,510, which slightly higher than the 2,73,741 score of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. Instead of the under display fingerprint sensor, the company will be continuing with the traditional rear facing fingerprint sensor.
The OnePlus will continue to offer dual cameras on the rear and single camera on the front. The OnePlus 6 should be going official in the coming months.
OnePlus 6 Might Sport Gigabit LTE Modem
(March 15th, 2018)
OnePlus will be coming with their new OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone in mid-2018. Based on the leaks, the device will be coming with a display notch and dual rear cameras. It will be offering 19:9 AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Just like Oneplus 5 devices, the upcoming OnePlus 6 might come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. Now, the new rumors suggest the OnePlus 6 to include Snapdragon X16 Gigabit LTE modem.
The Snapdragon X16 modem will be offering download speeds up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds up to 150 Mbps. The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones also came with Gigabit LTE modems. OnePlus is yet to unveil its 2018 flagship devices and the leaks hint it to happen very soon. While the first look of the upcoming OnePlus 6 is already leaked in China, we now got a better view with the leaked render from Evan Blass. The dual cameras are vertically aligned in the center of the device. Just below the rear cameras is the oval-shaped fingerprint sensor. On the bottom rear, it is mentioned as “Designed by OnePlus.” The company is retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack. There is also a USB Type-C port, loudspeaker, and a primary microphone on the bottom edge. The volume rocker is placed on the left edge of the device.
While we don’t have the front view of the OnePlus 6 smartphone, it might look similar to the OPPO R15 and OPPO F7 smartphones with the notch display.
OnePlus 6 Confirmed to Sport Display Notch
(March 29th, 2018)
As expected, OnePlus 6 is now officially confirmed to come with a notch on the top of the display. Till date, we have seen many other Android smartphone manufacturers embracing the iPhone X-like notch. Even Vivo and OPPO from OnePlus’s parent company have recently launched their latest high-end smartphones with display notch. The notch on the upcoming OnePlus 6 holds the selfie camera, earpiece, and other sensors (from right to left).
While the OnePlus 5T launched with 18:9 display, the upcoming OnePlus 6 will be offering 19:9 aspect ratio. We will mostly see the same Optic AMOLED panel with rounded corners. The navigation gestures which are now available for the OnePlus 5T devices running on Oxygen OS beta might make its way into the official build with the OnePlus 6. On the right edge, we can also see the textured power button.

Another Fake OnePlus 6 Listing Spotted with Fake Reviews on HDFC Smartbuy Website
(May 3rd, 2018)
We are now getting used to seeing news coverage about the fake listings of the flagship smartphones. There are websites like Geekbuying which does this kind of fake stuff for every other smartphone launch. Even after repeatedly failing to provide accurate information, there are many websites still covering news around the fake listing from Geekbuying.
Today, the OnePlus 6 listing was found on HDFC’s Smartbuy website. From the past few weeks, the company has been teasing the upcoming OnePlus 6 by revealing few key features. Firstly, it showed the notch of the device. Look at the image from Smartbuy website, you can notice a relatively bigger notch, similar to that of Apple iPhone X.
While all Android smartphones with notch display are offering 6+ inches of screen size, the listing mentioned the OnePlus 6 to come with a 5.7-inch display. The resolution of the display is mentioned as 3200 x 1800 pixels, which comes down to 16:9 aspect ratio. Who in the world believes this information about the OnePlus 6?
Coming to the camera department, it is said to come equipped with a 23MP single rear camera and 16MP dual front cameras. After seeing the company’s previous launches, we don’t think even the OnePlus team might have thought about this camera configuration. On top of all this, there is also a review of OnePlus 6 from a website on February 17th.
FYI, the OnePlus 6 will be officially unveiled on May 16th in London and the India launch is scheduled for May 17th.
OnePlus will be unveiling its new flagship smartphone on May 16th in London. Now, the device is accidentally listed on Amazon Germany revealing the first look of Midnight Black and Mirror Black variants of the OnePlus 6. According to the listing, the OnePlus 6 with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage will be costing €519 (approx $620 / Rs. 41,750) and €569 (approx $680 / Rs. 45,750) respectively.
This year, the company will also launch the 8GB RAM variant with 256GB of onboard storage. The device will be coming with glass back body and notch display. It will be offering 19:9 aspect ratio with minimal bezels on the sides. Talking about the rear cameras, the listing revealed the device to sport 16MP + 20MP dual camera setup with OIS, portrait mode, and slo-mo support. As seen in the earlier leaked images, the alert slider can be spotted on the right edge.
Since the device comes with glass on the front and rear, the company opted for the Cornilla Glass 5 protection on both the sides. Unlike many other flagship devices, the company is still retaining the 3.5mm audio port. It will be running on the Android 8.1 Oreo-base Oxygen OS out of the box. The company already announced to offer Android P Beta for the OnePlus 6 by the time of its official launch. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
