OnePlus is all set for the official launch of the OnePlus 5 which is expected to happen in a couple of weeks from now. We already have a considerate amount of details about the flagship, thanks to some official info and a lot of rumors. As of now, we know that the OnePlus 5 is going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. We also know that the smartphone will have a really good camera as they have now partnered with DxO for the development of the same. And now we have yet another info about the smartphone, thanks to the CEO Pete Lau.

OnePlus’ CEO and Co-Founder Pete Lau has suggested that OnePlus 5 will be the slimmest flagship smartphone. The same was posted by him on Weibo, which is China’s largest microblogging website. You can check out the source link for the same. According to him, the OnePlus 5 is the thinnest flagship. However, he has not clearly mentioned if it is the thinnest smartphone amongst all the other flagships out there or is he referring to only the flagships from OnePlus.

In any case, one thing which we can confirm is the fact that it will be thinner than 7.35mm which is what OnePlus 3T measures in terms of thickness. In the post, he also clearly mentions that the company didn’t have to make any sacrifices with the overall user experience to achieve the current thickness, which is quite an interesting fact. Again, we don’t exactly know how thin the OnePlus 5 will actually be, but it is nice to know that we don’t have any sacrifices like battery life, etc.

If you remember, the OnePlus X smartphone was just 6.9mm thin. However, we are assuming that it is not considered here in this case since it is not a flagship. Hence it remains to be seen if we will see a significant difference in the thickness of the smartphone from its predecessors. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Are you looking forward to a thinner OnePlus flagship or are fine with the current thickness of the OnePlus smartphones? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment down below and also, stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more updates like this.
