After cancelling the Nokia X5 smartphone launch event at last minute on July 11th in China, the company now announced the revised launch date as July 18th. While we already came to know key details along with the first look of the device, the pricing and availability details will be officially unveiled tomorrow. The leaked images reveal the Nokia X5 to cost just 799 Yuan for the base variant. Let’s stay tuned for the launch event to get the official details.

While the Nokia X6 is set to make global debut as Nokia 6.1 Plus, in the coming days, we might also see the Nokia X5 coming to other markets as Nokia 5.1 Plus. Earlier this year, the company launched the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 5.1 as the successors to last year’s Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 smartphones. Unlike the Chinese variants, the global units will be shipping with pure Android OS with no bloatware apps.

Earlier: (July 11th, 2018) – HMD Global has been teasing the launch of a new Nokia X-series smartphone on July 11th in China. The launch event is now canceled due to some inconvenience caused at the venue. While the specifications of the device are revealed by the TENAA listing, the press renders revealed complete design of the device. While the official launch event is yet to happen, the leaked poster suggests the Nokia X5 to cost just 799 Yuan (approx $120 / Rs 8,200) in China.

At this price, the specifications of the device and Nokia branding makes the Nokia X5 stand out from the arsenal of budget smartphones from Chinese manufacturers. The 799 Yuan price tag should be of the base variant of the Nokia X5 and we need to wait for the official announcement to confirm it. As seen on the Nokia X6, the new Nokia X5 will also come with the notch display. Considering its low price tag, the Nokia X5 will be coming with an HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution panel.

As per the TENAA listing, the Nokia X5 will be coming with a 5.86-inch 19:9 display. Under the hood, the device might come powered by Helio P23/P60 octa-core processor. The device will be coming in 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB storage options. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with custom skin laid on top. The Nokia X5 which is expected to debut the international markets as Nokia 5.1 Plus will be coming with stock Android UI.

In the camera department, the Nokia X5 sports 13MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP single camera on the front for selfies. It will be powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and might support only up to 5V/2A power input. The Nokia X5 measures 149.51 × 71.98 × 8.09 mm and weighs 160 grams. Along with the rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the device might also feature face unlock option to securely unlock the device. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
