Nokia 8.1 4GB & 6GB RAM Variants Get Price Cut in India

In December last year, HMD Global launched new Nokia 8.1 as the successor to the popular Nokia 7 Plus. The device was initially launched in 4GB + 64GB storage configuration and is priced at Rs 26,999. Two months later, the company also introduced the 6GB + 128GB variant which costs Rs 29,999. During the last month’s Nokia Fan Festival sale, the company offers Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000 flat discount on Nokia 8.1 4GB and 6GB RAM variants respectively.

Today, the company announced a permanent price cut on both the storage variants. While the 4GB RAM variant is now available for Rs 19,999, the 6GB RAM variant can be purchased for Rs 22,999. The price cut is applicable for both online and offline channels. Now, it becomes one of the affordable Snapdragon 710-powered smartphones in the country. Unlike the competition, the Nokia 8.1offers premium build quality and pure Android experience.

It comes with Aluminum mid-frame with 2.5D curved glass on the front and rear. On the front, the Nokia 8.1 sports a 6.18-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2246 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. As of now, it is one of the very few smartphones under Rs 20,000 to support HDR10 playback. As mentioned earlier, the device comes powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 360 CPU and Adreno 616 GPU.

It packs up to 6GB of LPPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The device comes with a hybrid SIM card slot where the user can choose between the secondary SIM and the MicroSD card. In terms of optics, the new Nokia 8.1 sports dual camera on the rear with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The primary camera also comes with OIS for shooting stable videos.

The 20MP camera on the front can be used for selfies and video calls. The camera app on this device comes loaded with AI-based features like auto scene detection, AI portrait mode and more. It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery and supports 18W fast charging. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, the Nokia 8.1 also comes with face unlock support. In India, the Nokia 8.1 is only available in Blue/Silver and Iron color options. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
