After launching the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphones last month in India, HMD Global today unveiled a new smartphone called Nokia 7.1. Just like the Nokia 7.1 Plus, the new Nokia 7.1 also sports ZEISS cameras. On the front, there is a huge notch along with a thick bottom bezel. While the Nokia 7 Plus came with a metal unibody design, the new Nokia 7.1 comes with glass back body.
The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and will soon receive the latest Android 9.0 Pie update. On the front, the device sports 5.84-inch PureDisplay with FullHD+ (2244 x 1080 pixels) resolution and HDR 10 playback. The display on this device offers 80% screen-to-body ratio and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 509 GPU and 3GB/4GB of RAM.
While the 3GB RAM variant offers 32GB of internal storage, the 4GB RAM variant comes with 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding up to 400GB. In terms of optics, the Nokia 7.1 sports 12MP RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP Monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is an 8MP fixed focus camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It is backed by a 3,060mAh non-removable battery that also supports fast charging. The Nokia 7.1 measures 149.7 x 71.18 x 7.99 mm and weighs 160 grams. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the device also supports face unlock. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. It will be available in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel color options.
The company also announced the Nokia True Wireless Earbuds which comes with a charging case. The earbuds alone can give up to 3.5 hours of music playback. The earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and are IPX4 certified for water resistance. While the Nokia 7.1 will retailing from EUR 299, the Nokia True Wireless Earbuds comes with price tag of EUR 129. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
