HMD Global launched the Nokia X6 as its first ever smartphone with a notch display in May this year in China. Earlier this week, the company also launched the Nokia X5 with notch display at an even affordable price. From last few months, there are rumors about the Nokia X6 making international debut as Nokia 6.1 Plus. Even the newly launched Nokia X5 is said to be sold outside of China as Nokia 5.1 Plus. Finally today, HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus in Hong Kong.
Unlike the China-exclusive Nokia X6, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is an Android One smartphone and offers a pure Android experience. The device is priced at HKD 2,288 (approx USD 290 / INR 20,000). It comes in White and Blue color options and is will go on sale starting July 24th. The variant launched in Hong Kong comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Talking about the design, the device sports metal frame with 2.5D curved glass on the front and rear.
On the front is a 5.8″ Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes powered 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 509 GPU. The device also supports dual SIM dual standby using the Hybrid SIM card and the user can replace the secondary SIM with MicroSD for further expansion of storage. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and will get two guaranteed major Android updates.
In the camera department, the Nokia 6.1 Plus sports 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture and a 16MP single front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,060mAh battery and support 9V/2A (18W) fast charging technology. The device comes with a fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock. It measures 147.2 x 70.98 x 7.99 mm and weighs 151 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
