No 3.5mm Headphone Jack for Samsung Galaxy S8, claims report

If you have seen Samsung launch event of Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, then you must have noticed that Samsung made fun of Apple decision of removing 3.5mm headphone jack from its iPhones. “Do you know what else it comes with? An audio jack. I’m just saying.” Samsung senior vice president of Product Strategy and Marketing Justin Denison poke fun of Apple iPhone during Note 7 presentation. But now a new report claims that company is going to ditch the 3.5mm jack from its upcoming flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 which is going to launch next year. It’s a surprising move from the company because, in the past, it was a critic of the same.
When Apple ditched 3.5mm jack from its iPhone 7, many said it’s a courageous move from the company setting a new trend in the industry. And now it’s proving right because many of other smartphone makers are also following the same. And now if the report is true, then Samsung is also going to follow the same. And sooner or later we won’t see any headphone jack on any of the upcoming smartphones from other companies too.
The report also claims that Samsung can offer Level Bluetooth headset to its early buyers of the Galaxy S8. According to another report, Samsung might introduce USB Type-C port in Galaxy S8 smartphone. And as we know, the last flagship Note 7 also launched with Type-C port, so we can say that Galaxy S8 will also come with a Type-C port instead of micro-USB 2.0 port.
There are already so many rumors about Galaxy S8 smartphone. Apart from 3.5mm jack and Type-C port stories, there is a talk of its display, optical fingerprint recognition technology, processor, and of course launch date as well. It expected that company might unveil it at an event at Mobile World Congress 2017 which is going to happen in March 2017. According to a report, it will go on sale in March next year.
Talking about the display of the smartphone, it might come with Quad HD (2560×1440 pixel) Super AMOLED resolution display. But this time it will be battery friendly and will consume less power than before. The new display will be made of new material and will offer the best viewing experience. The report also claims that upcoming Galaxy S8 will be the first smartphone to feature optical fingerprint recognition technology. That means the company is going to install the fingerprint sensor in the display of device itself instead of placing it under the home button.
As we know, Virtual Reality(VR) is going to be a big thing next year. Samsung is also gearing up to compete and will go to launch the Galaxy S8 VR compatible out of the box. The smartphone will come with 6GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or Samsung Exynos 8895 SoCs. Do let us know your thoughts about these leaks.
