Meizu has launched its latest mid-range smartphone called Meizu X8 today in China. The company has been teasing from the last couple of weeks. It will be competing with the Honor 8X and Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite smartphones in China. The Meizu X8 is also the most affordable Snapdragon 710-powered smartphone. It sports metal frame with 3D curved glass back body. On the front is the notch display with a slightly thicker bottom chin.
The device comes in Black, White, and Blue color options. The device comes with a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 360 CPU and Adreno 616 GPU. The Meizu X8 comes 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB storage options. The device comes with a dual SIM card slot and lacks MicroSD card support.
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with the custom Flyme OS skin on top. Talking about the cameras, the Meizu X8 sports 12MP + 5MP dual cameras on the rear with f/1.9 aperture and a 20MP single camera on the front for selfies. The device is backed by a 3,210mAh non-removable and supports 5V/2A (10W) fast charging via USB Type-C port. While we can spot the circular fingerprint sensor, the device also supports face unlock feature.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The device will be on sale starting tomorrow in China. The base variant of the Meizu X8 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 1598. The 6GB RAM variant of the Meizu X8 with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 1798 and CNY 1998 respectively. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
