New Sony G8441 Smartphone Running On Android 8.0 Spotted At Antutu

Sony has been quite silent lately when it comes to smartphone launches. However, we now have some new reports which tell us that the company is readying a new smartphone for the market. A new smartphone was on Antutu benchmarking website recently which goes by the model name G8441. And taking a look at the leaked specs of the smartphone, it appears to be a flagship device from the company.

One of the first thing to note here that fact that it is running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC which is currently the flagship chipset that the company is selling. The benchmark listing, however, says that it is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Hence it remains to be seen if this is the only configuration or will there be another variant. However, that’s not the most interesting thing to note from the listing.

This new smartphone from Sony is said to be running on Android 8.0, which is currently newest version of Android. This is really interesting considering the fact that there is no other smartphone out there on the market running Android 8.0 except for Google Pixel, etc. which received the beta update. However, the benchmark listing also shows a 720p resolution display which does not seem to be appropriate for a flagship. This is could be an error, but it surely is worth keeping in mind.

Now coming to the cameras, the benchmark listing shows an 8MP camera combination for both the front as well as the back, which is also suspicious, since Sony is known for putting cameras with high megapixel count on its flagship smartphones. As of now, we don’t have any other information about this smartphone. As far as the launch and availability are concerned, there are some rumors out there which say that the company will be launching this smartphone IFA conference in Berlin on August 31st. Apart from that, there is not a lot to report about it and we suggest you stay tuned. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Are you looking forward to any of the Sony smartphones in the future? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment down below.
