In the last few days, there are many rumors about the comeback of N-series from Nokia. The famous N-series was first unveiled in 2005, and the latest product under this series is the 2014-launched Nokia N1 tablet running on Android. There is no official confirmation on the launch of new N-series smartphone by Nokia. The leaked image with the tagline “Nseries once more” is behind this rumor, but actually, that image is a media invite for the launch of a new smartphone by the Chinese manufacturer Qihoo 360. The company will be launching its second-gen device in the N-series, the 360 N5 smartphone on February 22nd in Beijing, China.
Qihoo 360 also sent a Symbian powered Nokia N81 mobile phone along with the invite. This is not the first time we are seeing a Nokia device sent along with the invites. In the last couple of years, Meizu did the similar trick by sending Nokia phones few times. Talking about the upcoming 360 N5 smartphone, it will be the successor to the 360 N4 which was launched in May last year. Later the company also upgraded it by launching the 360 N4S smartphone with better build quality and improved specifications. Now the 360 N5 will also feature a metal body with high-end specifications.
Though there is no official confirmation, we expect the 360 1605-A02 that was listed on TENAA to be the upcoming 360 N5. It comes with a brushed metal finish on the back along with curved edges. The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This will be company’s second smartphone to come equipped with 6GB of RAM. The 360 Q5 Plus is the first Qihoo 360 smartphone to feature 6GB RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage which can be further expandable via MicroSD card slot.
It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for making HD voice calls. The 3,920mAh non-removable battery keeps the 360 N5 powered on, and we expect it to support fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB port. It measures 152 x 76 x 8.25 mm and weighs 156 grams. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge while the hybrid SIM slot can be found on the left edge.
According to the listing, the device will be available in Gold, Gray, and Black color options. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based 360 OS 2.0 which completely different stock Android UI. Take these specifications with a pinch of salt as the there is no confirmed source. Though the QiKU smartphones are launched in India, after it is rebranded to 360, the company made the brand exclusive to the Chinese market. We don’t expect the upcoming 360 N5 to be launched outside of China. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details.
