HTC might be revealing the successor to the M9 flagship smartphone just yet, but there is something for HTC lovers can look forward to the MWC week happening in Barcelona. In a recent tweet, the notorious leakster Evan Blass posted what appears to be the press renders of the upcoming Desire series handset. The HTC Desire series is a mid-range set of devices targeted at a particular set of users looking for a decently specced smartphone. And from the looks of it, HTC fans have got what they wanted, not the flagship, but, at least, an HTC device. We are hoping that the Taiwanese brand would be showcasing this at the MWC event.
The six color variants pictured in the leaked photo suggests that it would be quite a classy device and would sport the elegant aesthetics, mostly familiar to an HTC consumer. The codenamed A16 might let you think that this is a model in the A Series, like the One A9, although, it isn’t. The color variants showcased are Black and White, Sparkly Black, White, Red and Navy, at least, what they looked to us.
It has been reported by other leakster that goes by Twitter handle @LIabTooFeR had let us know that A16 is indeed a Desire series smartphone with some brief specifications. According to the leakster, the device would be sporting a Snapdragon 210 processor under the hood, a 5-inch 720p display, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with support of expansion slot up to the unknown limit. In the camera department, the rear camera would be of an 8-megapixel resolution while the front facing camera module would have 5-megapixel image sensor.
All this would be powered by a 2200mAh capacity battery. Isn’t company being too positive about Desire handsets featuring low-end specifications, as per the current standards? Well, yes. But take this news with a pinch of salt, as there is no official word by the brand yet. Though judging by the credibility of the leaksters, it might be probably true, only the time will tell.
The press events start from today; we are present at the event covering it on the ground. Let us know in comments section if you have any queries about any smartphone you’re looking forward to being announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress event.
